# Music Lesson: Introduction to Eighth Notes
I hope you've been okay with the introduction of eighth notes,
- Sometimes on the snare drum,
- Sometimes on the bass drum.
Certainly, that last little exercise we did is a bit of a step up in terms of the **bass drum frequency**. So, that's something you might want to practice a little bit more to prepare for the next piece.
But, yeah, hopefully you're having fun! You're keeping an eye on your technique, and you're feeling that the notes are becoming a little bit more consistent when you're playing.
You should be growing in confidence as well, playing a lot of different grooves, so it's all good stuff.
