Christmas is the perfect time to entertain the family with some of the timeless hymns we all know and love. This course teaches three christmas classics in detail, and includes download-able sheet music and fingering guides:
- Silent Night
- O Little Town of Bethlehem
- Good King Wenceslas
Concert pianist and educator Annabel Thwaite teaches you how to perform the pieces authentically and to the best of your ability covering:
- Setting the right mood with tempo and dynamics
- Achieving stylistically appropriate articulation
- How to practise tricky passages
- The history and context of the piece
Most importantly Annabel uses these pieces to draw connections with the wider classical repertoire. The techniques you learn in these Christmas pieces can be applied to all kinds of classical piano music from Bach, Beethoven, Grieg, Chopin and many more. Annabel takes care to draw these connections and makes sure you are developing as a pianist as you play and have fun.
This course is for all amateur pianists, who want to learn some great repertoire, but develop their technique and knowledge as they do so.
