Lesson plan (0h 26m)
This course is designed for music teachers who want to further promote the magic of small ensembles in their own schools, building and challenging the existing ensemble ethos with Pro Corda's innovative and proven ideas. A small ensemble can be a string quartet, a piano trio, wind and brass, or almost any configuration of instruments that come together without a great deal of reportoire written for them.
The films are led by Annabel Thwaite, award winning pianist and Director of Core Courses and the Junior Course at Pro Corda.
Recognised as one of Britain’s most versatile and charismatic pianists, Annabel Thwaite enjoys a diverse career as a soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, and educator exploring collaborations with all types of musicians.
With Annabel and one of her junior ensembles, you will learn how to grow a chamber ensemble once reportoire is in place. A set of tips and games will help you as a teacher or amateur musician to add fun and fizz to rehearsal sessions and create more spontaneity, creativity and interaction within your group.
