Example Number Two: Tied Notes

Now let's have a look at example number two. Once again, we have four places where we have tied notes.

  1. First Bar:

    • Two quarter notes tied together.
    • Counts: 2.
  2. Second Bar:

    • A half note and a quarter note.
    • Total Counts: 3.
  3. Third Bar:

    • Two quarter notes.
    • Counts: 2.
  4. Final Bar:

    • A tied note that goes from the penultimate to the ultimate bar (from the second to the last bar), made up of two quarter notes.
    • Counts: 2 beats total.

How It Sounds

Let's have a look at how it sounds:

  • 1, 2, 3, 4.
  • 1, 2, 3, 4.
  • 1, 2, 3, 4.
  • 1, 2, 3, 4.
  • 1, 2, 3, FOUR.
